Fiora - League of Legends

Why I chose to make this costume:

I chose Fiora as a costume project specifically for her armor design, because I thought this would be a great first project for me to use Worbla for. I love the color scheme and the mix ratio of sewn parts and armor parts! Also, this girl fences! Which is sexy. And unexpected in video games.

How I made this costume:

I made the armor out of Worbla, sword made out of wood, hilt made of Worbla. This took over 4 weeks of learning a new technique and using a new material -it was a good and agonizing experience lol.

  • Most fun part: making the actual armor pieces!
  • Most pleasant surprise: Painting the pieces was actually therapeutic.
  • Most frustrating part: attaching the armor pieces to myself.
  • Most infuriating part: the sword. I suck at making props. Just suck at it.

The bodysuit underneath was made of moleskin. In hindsight, I'm not sure why I chose moleskin as the fabric, lol. It's so damn warm to wear. The cape was made of Polyester Shantung and the design was appliqued on using the heat-n-bond then satin stitch method.

Thoughts on this costume:

It feels badass to wear armor! And I can't wait to do more team ups as League characters!!!
